Description: India came to Pug Rescue very underweight, missing lots of hair, and very itchy. She is working on gaining weight and only needs about another pound to be in great pug shape. India has been treated for a yeast infection and is almost done with her antibiotics. Her hair is coming back in, and the itchiness is subsiding with twice daily antihistamines and good food.

India is a very quiet girl, and sadly, we suspect there has been some not so nice treatment in her past as she will occasionally yelp when touched. She has been checked by our vets and they have found nothing wrong, so we can only guess that India is worried about getting hurt or in trouble. Still, she likes to be put on the couch so she can lay next to you. India likes to sit on her dog bed or lie quietly at the feet of her foster parents while they work or watch TV. India is a very low key girl and she doesn't mind other dogs, but isn't too interested in playing with them yet.

India is housebroken, and uses a doggie door. She is not a barker, but does like to "talk" to you and remind you when it's meal time and she will let you know if she needs outside.

India would make a great companion for someone looking for a low key, quiet dog to hang out with. She may take some time to settle in and get comfortable, but with a loving and understanding forever home, she should do just fine.

New Beginning: India has found a new forever home! We are thrilled to have been able to help this dog on their journey to a better life. We hope your new home is filled with lots of love, Pug hugs, and sloppy kisses! We love to celebrate New Beginnings!
